We
Censat Agua Viva is an environmental organization that advocates for the construction of environmental justice, respect for the pluriverse and care for life. We work in defense of the territories together with communities and organizations, and in spaces of articulation of which we are part. We seek to position ourselves in the public sphere as a proactive organization in the face of the environmental crisis and to become a reference in the conceptualization and collective construction of environmental transitions, autonomy and alternatives to development.
The organizational structure is made up of the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, the General Coordination and two major teams: the thematic/missional and the administrative. In addition, of course, the organization has a Statutory Auditor.
Within the thematic/mission team are located the areas from which we materialize our political work, as well as technical teams that support the work transversally, which are currently Communications, Advocacy and Training and Pedagogy.
Our current thematic approach is divided into four main areas: Water, Common Good, Mining Conflicts, Energy and Climate Justice, y Forests and BiodiversityTerritorially, we provide accompaniment and pedagogical work mainly in Antioquia, Cauca, Caquetá, La Guajira, Nariño, Meta, Putumayo, Santander and Tolima, as well as in the coffee-growing region and the Caribbean more broadly. We carry out various national and international communication and advocacy actions and are part of Friends of the Earth International, the largest federation of grassroots environmental organizations in the world, which is why we are Friends of the Earth Colombia.
